The best way to know if your roof's lifespan has come to an end is to call Van Derhoof Roofing and have one of their trained salesman come to your property and take a look at it. The age of your current roof and the extent of issues with your roof are the main factors that determine when you should replace your roof.
Some things you should look for to see if your roof needs replacing are if you look up at your roof and see the corners of the shingles curling. If they are, your current roof is on its way to needing replacement. If your gutters are filled with granules from the shingles or if you notice shingles laying in your driveway or yard, it is time to replace the roof.
When you call Van Derhoof Roofing to come out and take a look at your roof, we will provide you with a no obligation, FREE of charge estimate.

Van Derhoof Roofing does not offer any type of “re-roof” for a number of reasons. First, the warranty that comes with a new roof system that you purchase from Van Derhoof Roofing does not protect you if you shingle over your current roof. Secondly, the lifespan of your new shingles are cut in half when you shingle over a seasoned roof. Lastly, to get the best out of your new roof, you need to make sure that the decking the new shingles are being secured to is in good shape.
If you “re-roof” over your current roof with a second or third layer a number of things can go wrong? First, it is very difficult to obtain a mortgage or homeowner's insurance when you have more than one layer on your roof. Secondly, many roofing issues are caused internally, meaning underneath the shingles. By installing multiple layers, you are only putting a Band-Aid over the problems and wasting a TON of money. When you tear off the existing roof, you can get to the root of the problems and solve other issues that were hidden.
Van Derhoof Roofing employees over 40 workers that are trained to provide each customer with the quality that Van Derhoof Roofing was founded on. Many of our workers have been with the company for more than 10 years and all of our foremen are factory trained and certified to oversee the installation of your new roof to the manufacturer's specifications.
To clean up all of the roofing debris, Van Derhoof Roofing uses a local dumpster service to haul all of our debris away. In certain instances, we will use a company dump trailer to make the job easier to haul trash away.
The only things we ask of each property owner are to provide a source of exterior electricity if possible (an outlet in the garage or on the side of the house that is turned on) and to provide an exterior source of water.
Besides roofing, Van Derhoof Roofing has trained crews to install siding, trim, and seamless gutters. For more information about the above services please click the links below:
